All About Maddie.

I thought since it has been all about Taylor these last few weeks I would brag on Maddie a little bit. She is such a sweet little girl, and we love having her in our family, she is talking so much now, and is constantly making us laugh...for instance, last night in the car she was playing with the window, making it go up and down, she then said to Taylor and his friend who were riding in the 3rd row.."what dis dudes!" I hadn't heard that come out of her mouth before and it cracked me up!! There is never a dull moment with her around, except when she is sleeping!
Gotta love those baby blues.

Getting ready back stage for her first official dance recital.

Back stage right before they went out, they said she got a little stage fright and started to cry, but got over it fast and went out on stage...she got a little startled when the music began, because it was a little loud, but she did great jumping and dancing around, she stopped a few times and just stood there watching everybody else then remembered she knew the dances too!

She even got flowers from one of my friends little boy's.

What a little ham.

Yellow Belt.

Taylor has been taking Judo since January, and has been working really hard. Last night they had their promotional ceremony, where they test and hopefully earn their next belt. Well, he tested and received his yellow belt! He was SO excited, and proud of himself, you can really see the pride in his face in this picture. He didn't even want to take it off when we got home, he asked if he could sleep in it, but I made him take it off when he took a shower this morning. Kids are so funny...so funny he put it back on as soon as he got home from school, and still has it on!
...And I couldn't resist posting this picture of Maddie, she got into Taylor's underwear drawer and wanted to wear his "superhero panties!"
We have had a very eventful week so far and there is more to come tomorrow...Taylor has Super Kids Day at school, and it is also his last day of kindergarten..so sad. Then, tomorrow night is Maddie's dance recital, so I will be posting more on those events later.

kindergarten celebration.

Today was Taylor's Kindergarten celebration. They put on a great program. They dressed up like cowboy's and cowgirl's and sang some cute song's, it was so fun to see them all perform. I am so glad Taylor has had such a great experience in kindergarten this year. I really have enjoyed his teacher Mrs. Prater, she has been so good for him. I felt she really enjoyed having Taylor in her class. Mrs. Prater & Taylor

The kinders dancing and singing, of course Taylor doesn't want to draw any attention to himself, so he is just singing, and not doing the actions.

My Mom.

I thought it would be fun to show some old photos of my Mom for Mother's Day.
My grandma holding my mom on her blessing day.

Here she is around 2 years old.

Doesn't that face look familiar? I think Taylor looks just like his Grammy!!!

My parents on their wedding day, way back in 1969. I think my Mom was such a beautiful bride, she even made her own wedding dress!

And a recent picture with my Dad...this is my Dad's signature picture, kissing his little lady on the cheek. This is a favorite of mine. Happy Mother's Mom!

I love you...but you already knew that.
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there!

Just Singing in the Rain.

We have had some crazy weather around here lately...lots of rain, wind and even a couple small tornadoes touched down here the other day, I guess it is tornado season...I'll be glad when it's over.

The kids were so happy to get out and play in the rain for a little bit, and of course I had to get a few shots of them.

Taylor didn't care if he got wet or not, he is such a boy!

Fun with Friends.

The other day a couple of my friends and I took our kids to the Children's Museum. The kids had so much fun, and so did I. I enjoyed watching them explore all the fun things there. They had a little grocery store where the kids could fill their baskets and ring the items up on a cash register, a fire engine, a real cockpit (which was Taylor's favorite), an ambulance, a dentist's chair, bubbles, a school room, the list goes on... This is one of my favorites of all the kids, they got to make a movie and watch themselves in it. Then they got to make their own news show, where they for casted the weather...tornadoes are coming!!!
Taylor following in his Dad's footsteps...plumbing
Maddie's favorite part was the bubbles. I loved how she was trying to blow the bubbles with that huge wand.
I loved watching them make their artwork.
Maddie's first attempt at water coloring...she did a really good job!

Windfall.

This is the site we woke up to this morning...This is the fence to our neighbors to the right and... This is the fence to our neighbors to the left...There were 65-75 mile an hour winds last night, I thought for sure there was a tornado coming, I jumped out of bed at 12:43, to be exact freaking out and wondering where to hide since we don't have a tornado shelter...
I ran in and checked on my kids, then turned on the TV to watch the storm pass by. Luckily we didn't have any tornados touch down in our area, even though it seemed like it...there was also hail banging up against the windows, it sounded like rocks hitting the windows.
I guess Dale will be busy this weekend putting the fences back up!
