Favorite Foto Friday. { Oh Baby }

One of my friends had a baby last week, and asked me to take some pictures of him. Her Grandmother had this awesome vintage baby buggy...so perfect for some new born shots.

I Know. I Know.

I have a problem...I can't leave my blog layout alone!

My friend Angela asked me to help her with a new layout, and hers turned out so cute...I had to do mine again. I probably spend WAY to much time, but it is fun creating pretty things.

Speaking of pretty things...this is the PRETTIEST thing I will ever create...

playing Nice.

I don't know if it is the age difference or the fact that I have a boy and a girl, but lately my kiddos don't play so well together...so on Sunday morning when I saw this...

I had to document it!

Now if only we could have days like this everyday!!!

Favorite Foto Friday.

I started a photography class this week, it has been so fun "practicing" all of the settings that I knew nothing about before.

Bear with me the next 6 weeks as I post my favorite foto's for the week. They will probably be mostly of my kids or my friends kids, because I like people in my pictures...

That is were my love of photography began, seeing people in different ways and capturing it forever in a photo.

So here are just a few of my fav's...

My kids weren't that thrilled to go on a "photo shoot" but I promised Taylor he could find the biggest stick and play in the creek...which he did...and eventually he fell into the creek and got that darn Oklahoma Red Dirt(clay) on his brand new shoes...URRGG!!!

Photobucket
Maddie can really pose if she wants too, unfortunately she doesn't pose long enough for me to fiddle around with all my settings...going manual is tough. I did manage to get this one, I loved the way the sun hit her hair.

Photobucket
This is a typical Taylor pouting face...he really didn't want to pose, he wanted to go fall in the darn creek and ruin his new shoes with that lovely red dirt.
Photobucket
...and here he is with his stick, before we head home to try to get the dirt out!

All Wet.

We had few rainy days last week...but that didn't stop this kid from jumping on the trampoline.
He was having way too much fun getting all wet! Oh! To be a kid again...
This kid really keeps me on my toes...what am I going to do when he is a teenager...

I sure have my work cut out for me!

Hurricane IKE...Yikes!

As some of you know my brother Jared and his family live down in the Houston area, luckily they live on the west side of Houston, the brunt of the storm was more south and east. They were not in an evacuation area, but hunkered down, prepared for the worst. Jared surveyed the damage in his neighborhood this morning, thankfully they only lost power for about an hour, and have no damage to their home. However, as you will see in some of the photos his neighbor didn't fair as well, a huge branch went through the brick wall and into the master bedroom.

This is the street my brother lives on, just a few houses down.

Those winds really must have been strong to knock a tree this big down.

This is my brothers home, thankfully all of the big trees pointed away from their home. Looks like he will need to cut the leaning tree down.

This is his neighbors home.

Ouch!!!

I can't believe the trampoline didn't get blown over!

They set up a fort in the middle of their house just in case windows broke during the night, and they all had a slumber party in the dining room. Four of their 5 girls peacefully sleeping all in matching sleeping bags...how cute!

Dress UP.

I remember how excited I was when I found out I was having a little girl. To celebrate I went out and bought lots of pink...actually I pretty much filled her closet with everything pink. I dreamt about dressing my sweet baby girl in all the cute outfits, coordinating everything just perfectly, well I have HAD fun doing that for the last 3 years...fast forward to the last few weeks. Well, lets just say things don't coordinate so well and things don't fit too well either...she found my stash of baby clothes I hadn't given away yet...
"SEE MOM DIS WILL FIT ME"
"SEE MOM DIS CUTE ON ME"
(size 12 months)

This one is also 12 months.

"AND MY BABY TINKS IT'S CUTE TOO!!!"

Yeah, well good thing Mom will always think you are cute too. I guess I need to go through her closet when she isn't home and get rid of all her little clothes!

my BOY.

I don't mean to bore you all with my new obsession, but this blog is my place to share my accomplishments and brag a little about my kiddos, RIGHT? Besides my Dad complained about the fact that I didn't do a page on Taylor...so this one is for you POPPY!
Oh and by the way...this digi scrappin' is much more time consumming then I thought, but it is so fun learning a new skill! I just didn't think it would take so much time. These pages are beautiful only because Jessica Sprague rocks...we will see what happens when I do my first assignment from scratch...not sure I will post that one ;o)!

photoshop 101.

I have had photoshop elements for awhile. I purchased it so I could edit my photo's and hopefully teach myself how to do some digital scrapbooking...well the "teach myself" method was just getting me mad and frustrated so...I'm taking an online class here to rid myself of the frustration! It is working...here are my first two assignments:

What do you think?

Pool Time.

Watch out Michael Phelps...here comes Dale! We have really enjoyed going to the neighborhood pool this summer, the pool will be closing soon so we need to go as often as the weather permits. Maddie is like her Mom...we like to sit on the side and just watch everyone, and then when it gets too hot, we get in just long enough to cool off...
The boys on the other hand, well I think these pictures speak for themselves...Taylor has become a very good swimmer this summer, so hopefully someday he will take after his father, and learn some of his "sweet moves."

Back to school tomorrow...these 4 day weekends are nice, but I like having a schduled routine. Dale also started a new job today. He moved over to the Depot Wing where he will be an Exec. to the General. I'm happy about it because he supposedly gets off around 5, haven't had those days very often around our house.
