My Mom.

I thought it would be fun to show some old photos of my Mom for Mother's Day.
My grandma holding my mom on her blessing day.

Here she is around 2 years old.

Doesn't that face look familiar? I think Taylor looks just like his Grammy!!!

My parents on their wedding day, way back in 1969. I think my Mom was such a beautiful bride, she even made her own wedding dress!

And a recent picture with my Dad...this is my Dad's signature picture, kissing his little lady on the cheek. This is a favorite of mine. Happy Mother's Mom!

I love you...but you already knew that.
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there!

Just Singing in the Rain.

We have had some crazy weather around here lately...lots of rain, wind and even a couple small tornadoes touched down here the other day, I guess it is tornado season...I'll be glad when it's over.

The kids were so happy to get out and play in the rain for a little bit, and of course I had to get a few shots of them.

Taylor didn't care if he got wet or not, he is such a boy!

Fun with Friends.

The other day a couple of my friends and I took our kids to the Children's Museum. The kids had so much fun, and so did I. I enjoyed watching them explore all the fun things there. They had a little grocery store where the kids could fill their baskets and ring the items up on a cash register, a fire engine, a real cockpit (which was Taylor's favorite), an ambulance, a dentist's chair, bubbles, a school room, the list goes on... This is one of my favorites of all the kids, they got to make a movie and watch themselves in it. Then they got to make their own news show, where they for casted the weather...tornadoes are coming!!!
Taylor following in his Dad's footsteps...plumbing
Maddie's favorite part was the bubbles. I loved how she was trying to blow the bubbles with that huge wand.
I loved watching them make their artwork.
Maddie's first attempt at water coloring...she did a really good job!

Windfall.

This is the site we woke up to this morning...This is the fence to our neighbors to the right and... This is the fence to our neighbors to the left...There were 65-75 mile an hour winds last night, I thought for sure there was a tornado coming, I jumped out of bed at 12:43, to be exact freaking out and wondering where to hide since we don't have a tornado shelter...
I ran in and checked on my kids, then turned on the TV to watch the storm pass by. Luckily we didn't have any tornados touch down in our area, even though it seemed like it...there was also hail banging up against the windows, it sounded like rocks hitting the windows.
I guess Dale will be busy this weekend putting the fences back up!

I Love Spring.

Just a few pictures of the kids I took the other day down at the park. I just wanted to play around a little with my new toy. The weather is so beautiful lately. I love spring time and how green everything is turning. I planted more flowers yesterday, I really enjoy spending time on my flower gardens. I guess I got that from my Mammy, (my dad's mom) she lived with us growing up, and we always had the most beautiful flower gardens on the street, because she spent so much time taking care of them. My Mom was too busy taking care of 7 children, but Mammy kept our yard beautiful. I always miss my Mammy this time of year,(she died 10 years ago) because of her love of gardening and her birthday is next month...Happy Spring!!!

JOYFUL LIFE.

I had the chance to attend "Time out for Women" today, and I am so glad I went! I really needed it! It was so ensightful. I don't think I could even relay the spirit I felt there today.
I enjoyed the music of Hillary Weeks and a new all women's group called "Mercy River."
I wish I was better at writing and conveying my feelings about what I experienced today. I really was reminded of so many things that I need to be better at.
I loved the title of the conference..."Joyful life." The presenters touched on so many aspects of our lives and ways to be joyful , and yet balance our lives and our families, and all the other things that come along the way. What it really came down to for me is that we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows each of us individually and as we show love to others and teach our children to love others we will have a Joyful Life. Like I said before, I wish I was better at expressing myself, but I felt the spirit so strong today and I am grateful for the things I learned , I feel I can be a better wife, mother, and friend. If any of you have the opportunity to attend this conference I highly recommend it, and I hope you all can live a "Joyful life."

Finally...

I have been wanting a digital SLR camera for quite sometime and I finally got one!!! I am so excited to play with it and learn how to use it. I love photography and am looking forward to taking a class now that I have the right camera. I was playing around with it a little yesterday, but of course my kids weren't interested in cooperating with me, so the pictures are very random, but I love that I can take a picture instantly and I can capture the moment, like for instance...this one of Maddie boo hooing because she doesn't want her picture taken...

She was a little more cooperative with this one...brushing her teeth, she asked me to take this picture.

I love that I can get a good picture of Taylor jumping off the ottoman, and not missing the moment...

Once again," why do you want a picture of me mom? Hurry up I have to go get the bad guys before it gets dark..."

So know all I need to do is figure out how to use photoshop... there are so many things I want to learn about, but not sure where to find the time???

A Childs Prayer.

Last night as we were saying prayers and going to bed, it was Taylor's turn, this is how it basically went...

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this day...
Bless my Dad's Mom and Grandma and Grandpa to come back to life...
Bless my mom to make more money so she will buy me a skate board...
Bless Grammy, Poppy, Mom, Dad, Maddie and Me and all my aunts, uncles, and ALL of my cousins...
Bless my fort that is under my bed, that it won't get ruined while I sleep...
Bless me to stay on green light at school tomorrow...
Bless me to be good so Mom will let me ride the bus to school...

Dale and I had a hard time not cracking up during this one, what a funny kid!

A Little Visit from Poppy.

Maddie was posing for my Dad after her dance class. She absolutely loves her dance class. I didn't think a 2 year old would enjoy something so much, she gets so excited when I tell her she has dance class.

This is Taylor at Judo trying to flip this kid over...which he succeeded in doing. He is getting really good at it, so watch out for Taylor don't make him mad or he might take you down!

This is what my Dad looks like when he wakes up in the morning and has waited WAY too long to get a haircut...pretty scarey! I fixed that quick.

After Poppy's Haircut...much better now! The kids had a lot of fun having my Dad here for a few days. I sometimes feel bad they don't get enough time with their Grandparents. We really missed Grammy , she wasn't able to come this time, so we are looking forward to the fall when she can come visit.

We took Poppy to "POPS" for lunch, he thought that was a lot of fun. Next my Dad is heading down to Houston to visit my brother and his brood, that should be fun...I guess Jared and Jennifer are leaving their 6 kids with Poppy for a few days...now that will be interesting!!!
